The University of East Anglia, in collaboration with Kings College London, are aiming to identify and address the mental health gaps across Norfolk and Suffolk’s rural and coastal regions.
They are conducting research that focuses on bringing together key stakeholders and conducting extensive scoping work to identify mental health needs and priorities in Norfolk and Suffolk, particularly for rural, coastal and migrant communities. The findings from this initial work will lay the foundations for a larger-scale programme of research, addressing the identified priorities over the next five years.
They have three strands of work, guided by a steering group and a lived experience advisory panel:
· A survey (to be completed by members of the public interested in mental health over the age of 16 in Norfolk & Suffolk)
· Focus group discussions (involving people living in rural and coastal areas in Norfolk & Suffolk)
· Prioritisation workshops (involving people with lived experience and mental health professionals)
They are now recruiting participants for the survey and focus group discussions, see leaflets below.
